Unmatched service & Expertise

At AgVice, we have extensive experience in the modern swine industry.  However we do not broker pig space, remodel barns or sell pig production contracts. We remain completely independent of those influences.

Excavation modeling and Cut/Fill Calculations

Finding the right building site for your livestock facility can be challenging.  The success of most construction projects is dependent on minimizing the soft costs associated with the project.  These soft costs include permitting, land price, rock, and excavation.

AgVice can bring extensive experience to your project, and assist in a way that no one else in the industry can.  Using state of the art construction software, we can model the terrain of a potential site and help determine how much soil needs to be moved.  This software also assists with determining driveway design and size, which can help with gravel cost estimations as well.

Separation Distance WaiverS

Swine confinement facilities are required to meet different separation distances, depending on size of the site.

The separation distance required to a neighboring residence can be waived if the owner of property agrees to sign what is known as a “separation distance waiver”.  This waiver grants the barn owner the right to build closer than is allowed by normal DNR setback rules.

Waivers can be a tool to help barn owners to save money on excavation, utility infrastructure and/or gravel, if building a site closer than the minimum separation distance to a nearby residence.  With a notary on staff, we can help you prepare and record the waiver, so that you can avoid costly attorney fees.

Barn Staking Services

AgVice uses the latest in RTK GPS technology to help stake the corners of your facility. This high-accuracy barn staking ensures that your site is being placed in the correct spot that has been permitted with the Iowa DNR.

These services are provided at a price significantly less than using a costly survey crew.
